Home Assistant Tuya Local component
Please report any issues and feel free to raise pull requests. Many others have contributed their help already.
This is a Home Assistant integration to support devices running Tuya firmware without going via the Tuya cloud. Devices are supported over WiFi, limited support for devices connected via hubs is available.
Note that many Tuya devices seem to support only one local connection. If you have connection issues when using this integration, ensure that other integrations offering local Tuya connections are not configured to use the same device, mobile applications on devices on the local network are closed, and no other software is trying to connect locally to your Tuya devices.
Using this integration does not stop your devices from sending status to the Tuya cloud, so this should not be seen as a security measure, rather it improves speed and reliability by using local connections, and may unlock some features of your device, or even unlock whole devices, that are not supported by the Tuya cloud API.
A similar but unrelated integration is rospogrigio/localtuya, if your device is not supported by this integration, you may find it easier to set up using that as an alternative.

REST API
Home Assistant provides a RESTful API on the same port as the web frontend. (default port is port 8123).
If you are not using the frontend in your setup then you need to add the api component to your configuration.yaml file.
http://IP_ADDRESS:8123/ is an interface to control Home Assistant.
http://IP_ADDRESS:8123/api/ is a RESTful API.
The API accepts and returns only JSON encoded objects.
All API calls have to be accompanied by the header Authorization: Bearer ABCDEFGH, where ABCDEFGH is replaced by your token. You can obtain a token ("Long-Lived Access Token") by logging into the frontend using a web browser, and going to your profile http://IP_ADDRESS:8123/profile.
The imap_email_content integration will read emails from an IMAP email server and report them as a state change within Home Assistant. This is useful if you have a device that only reports its state via email.
Setup e-mail tracking

ZiGate component for Home Assistant
Instructions on how to integrate your Zigbee Home Automation (ZHA) devices within Home Assistant.
ESPHome is a system to control your ESP8266/ESP32 by simple yet powerful configuration files and control them remotely through Home Automation systems.
Recent versions of Home Assistant with ZHA can do over the air (OTA) updates of your zigbee IKEA and LEDVANCE devices.
Other manufactures could be supported too if they published their firmwares publically!
I do know, specifically for IKEA, recent firmware updates have greatly improved their stability and performance.
